When did you join Expleo?
June 2022
How was your first day at Expleo?
I was welcomed into the London office for an Induction with a group of new starters from across the business. I found it very insightful, organised and well-structured. There were lots of good conversations and speakers throughout the day that gave me an insight into what consultant life would be like and how to manage clients’ needs consistently alongside internal Expleo commitments. Lunch was provided which offered a chance to network with other consultants.
I was also able to meet Shivani, Head of Business Architecture and Analysis. She had reached out to me on LinkedIn prior to joining to say she was excited to have me join the team. It meant that I saw some friendly faces in the office on my first day.
What's a typical day in the life of a Business Analyst like?
On client engagements, it’s important to speak with your team early morning to understand what the priorities are for the day, including current commitments and new work on the horizon. There’s always a series of tasks running in parallel which ensures there is never a dull moment. A steady stream of meetings and workshops helps build a relationship with the client and further understand the programme landscape. Document analysis, as well as the creation, maintenance, and review of documents, features heavily in my day but is vital to ensure high-quality deliverables for the client.
As a Business Analyst, I complete a series of tasks such as analysing data and information to present options and recommendations to the client. Several actions will follow that I need to manage, which may depend on other teams so I will liaise with them through to completion. No two days are the same, tasks vary daily when working with a client and it’s probably what I love most about my role.
Outside of client engagements, Expleo puts a heavy emphasis on learning and development opportunities for your career. I’ve been doing a lot of training, working towards qualifications that are relevant to business analysis. I have also completed personal qualifications that make me feel more confident in my role which enables me to further portray the Expleo values.
What about Expleo do you enjoy the most?
Whilst I may be a Senior Business Analyst, Expleo enables me to navigate and explore different avenues of work that interest me so that I can leverage my strengths as a Business Analyst to further develop my skill and grow professionally.
How did Expleo help you grow your career?
Expleo has its own training academy called Expleo Academy, which offers unparalleled access to a massive range of professional qualifications and personal development opportunities. Prior to joining, I was not aware of the academy, but it’s a huge plus when considering an offer from Expleo.
It’s a massive bonus for anyone joining this business to have training at your fingertips that is so easy to schedule. The Expleo Academy is also open to external companies and professionals, should they need access to great courses and additional qualifications.
In addition, having a career manager who also sits within my business area, means that they have a vested interest in ensuring that I’m taking the path that’s right for me and guides my personal development.
What advice would you give to other business analysts considering applying to Expleo?
Apply as soon as you can. If you want to grow, develop, and make new connections, you must be part of Expleo.
