Tell us about your role and department
As a Software QA Intern at Expleo, I am part of the IT Quality Assurance team, which plays an important role in ensuring software is reliable, stable and meets business requirements.
The team identifies defects, tests functionality and works closely with development and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
What has been your most exciting project?
One of the most exciting projects I have worked on has been testing a large-scale loan management system. I gained hands-on experience in functional and exploratory testing while helping ensure new customer-facing features worked as expected.
Working alongside developers, Business Analysts and senior testers also gave me valuable exposure to Agile ways of working and helped me understand how different teams collaborate during a project.
What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?
I joined the internship without a formal software testing background, so adapting to the technical concepts and structured testing processes was a key challenge.
I overcame this through self-learning, asking questions, shadowing experienced testers and practising writing and reviewing test cases. This helped me build my knowledge and confidence.
What is it like experiencing your first corporate job
Although this is not my first corporate role, starting an internship in Software QA has been a unique experience. I have had to adapt to a new way of working, including Agile practices, daily stand-ups and collaborative testing.
The experience has challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and develop in a new field.
