A day in the life of an expleo data scientist

Morning
Scanning and understanding the latest scientific publications and big tech updates, staying ahead of emerging AI models and industry trends.
Mid-morning
Working closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements and explain complex data models in simple terms. Reviewing and refining data models or algorithms for optimal performance.
Noon
Participating in meetings with the software engineering team to ensure seamless integration of data solutions into client systems.
After lunch
Conducting exploratory data analysis, preparing data for machine learning models, and tuning hyperparameters to improve model accuracy.
Afternoon
Running experiments on cloud-based platforms to evaluate model performance and iterating based on client feedback. Also reading scientific publications to learn about new AI models.
End of day
Preparing reports on project progress, ensuring transparency with the client, and aligning goals for the next day.

Entry-level requirements​

HARD SKILLS

  • Mathematics & Statistics 
  • Knowledge in Python or R 
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) 
  • Understanding of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) 
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (Pandas, Power BI, Tableau)
