Working as an HR Intern within the Centre of Excellence (COE) UK team has exposed me to new challenges and opportunities to step outside my comfort zone.

One of the most important aspects of my role is ensuring that the candidates and stakeholders we support receive a professional and positive experience. Working with a dedicated team has also pushed me to develop my skills and grow in a complex field.

What has been your most exciting project?

One of the most exciting projects I have worked on involved supporting the assignment of candidates to an e-learning platform based on their respective assignments.

I initially found the process challenging to navigate, but with time and practice I became more comfortable and confident using it. It has been rewarding to develop a new skill and take on the process more independently.

What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?

One of my first challenges was drafting professional emails to stakeholders. With guidance from my team and the support of digital tools, I was able to improve the structure and clarity of my communication.

I also initially struggled with the candidate enrolment process. With support from my colleagues, I learned how to complete the process and can now manage it independently.

These experiences have helped me adapt to Expleo’s standards and expectations and become more confident in delivering accurate and professional work.

What is it like experiencing your first corporate job

While this is not my first corporate role, working at Expleo has been a new and exciting experience. I was excited and slightly nervous when I joined, as I was unfamiliar with the company and its environment.

The experience has challenged me to grow, take on new responsibilities and maintain a professional approach to my work.

Any advice for future interns at Expleo?

Listen to your colleagues and managers and take the time to understand each task they teach you.

Always maintain a positive attitude, stay professional and do not allow distractions to affect your work.

Make the most of every opportunity to learn and become an intern who makes a positive contribution to the team.

How has this internship helped you grow professionally?

This internship has pushed me outside my comfort zone and given me the opportunity to do things I had never done before.

I have developed new skills, gained confidence and learned to take on responsibilities more independently.

Most importantly, I have enjoyed the experience and the professional growth that has come with it.
