A little about yourself
I started my journey in software back in 2015 at the University of Ulster, where I lived in Portstewart for four years. Being interested in Software Quality Assurance, I secured a work placement as a Software QA Engineer. During my final year of university, I worked as a Software Developer for a start-up. Fast forward to post-graduation I’ve been at Expleo for over three years, currently working as a Technical Engineer specialising in Automation and Innovation. Aside from work, you’ll most likely find me at the beach with my Labrador Retriever, Mason!
A typical day at work
- First thing coffee…and checking the results of my nightly executed pipelines
- My main activity throughout the day entails writing code for automated UI and back-end testing
- Mentoring QEs (Quality Engineering) and helping other stakeholders with automation queries

Why did you choose to join Expleo as a QE?
There was an abundance of resources available in the Expleo Academy, I’ve been able to learn new skills and apply what I’ve learned on the job. I was also impressed by the tools and materials available to help with daily competencies.

How would you describe the culture at Expleo?
Expleo's culture is exciting, collaborative, and inclusive. Expleo's culture is one of the best reasons to work there. There’s a strong sense of community, as well as an understanding and willingness to assist others and motivate one another to do our best. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed attending team-building events with my fellow Expleo colleagues and have always enjoyed the company's social side.

Expleo has done an excellent job of creating an environment that encourages continuous learning and career development. I’ve had the opportunity to attend and present at Lunch & Learns, QE pillar meetings, QE forums, and many other events. I’ve also been given opportunities for public speaking events, charity volunteering, and obtaining certifications through training courses, all of which have helped me grow and advance my career.
